CPR / AED Training from IDES

IDES can conduct American Heart Association-certified CPR / AED classes at your church. It takes an AED to save a person who has collapsed from this potentially-fatal, time-sensitive heart condition. (AED means Automated External Defibrillator.)

The Logistics

The certification class is designed for between six (6) and nine (9) people. There is a charge of $30 per person, which covers the AHA Course Completion Card and the AHA Student Workbook.

The CPR / AED course may also accompany either of the two IDES flagship courses – the IDES Prepare to Respond weather disaster preparedness training, or the IDES Safe Worship church safety and security training.

What is covered

The four (4) hour class covers Adult CPR / AED, Child CPR / AED and Infant CPR, including hands-on compressions and ventilations and the use of an AED Trainer.

The high-tech, AHA-compliant manikins give the rescuer feedback to be sure the compressions are both fast and deep enough. Likewise, the AED Trainer gives same kind of voice commands as the real AEDs. The training concludes with a hands-on test following the AHA skills checklist.
