two hurricanes Devastate Lake Charles, LA

Hurricane Laura made landfall in Louisiana on August 27, 2020 as a category 4 hurricane. Laura sustained winds of 150mph, making it the strongest storm to hit southwest Louisiana on record. Just 43 days later, Hurricane Delta hit Louisiana as a category 2 just 13 miles from where Laura made landfall. Delta then moved over Lake Charles, a city where Hurricane Laura had damaged nearly every home and building. 1.5 billion people were ordered to evacuate across the norther Gulf Coast with more than 900,000 left without electricity. These hurricanes left Lake Charles with $12 billion or more in damages. Nearly 6 months later, thousands are still displaced, unable to return to their homes and living in hotels.

What can you do?

IDES is partnering to bring Help & Hope to those still recovering from Hurricane Laura and Hurricane Delta. Thousands are still displaced from their homes with no end in sight. We have a goal of repairing 34 homes and providing sheds for those in need, but we need you! We need to raise $150,000 to accomplish this goal!

Any amount you give is a blessing and gets us closer to completing these homes and sharing the love of Christ as we do.
