Hurricane Milton

Hurricane Milton struck Florida on the evening of October 9, 2024. Just 2 weeks after Hurricane Helene hit the state, they face more clean up and rebuilding. IDES Disaster Response Team has been in contact with numerous churches in the affected areas and is preparing to deploy in the coming days.

 

Hurricane Helene

Impacting multiple states and affecting millions of people, Hurricane Helene left behind a lot of destruction. We are currently working alongside partner churches and volunteers in multiple states to provide help and hope on the ground. In Florida, we are partnering with Live Oak Christian Church in Live Oak, FL. In Tennessee, we are partnering with First Christian Church in Elizabethton, TN. Our efforts in both places are currently active. You can donate and sign up to volunteer on the disaster sites at the buttons below.

 

Greenfield, Iowa Tornado

On May 21, 2024, an EF-4 tornado struck the small community of Greenfield of just over 2,000 people. Devestating a whole community, IDES was able to partner with Early Chapel Christian Church in Earlham, IA to help bring relief to those in need. Over the course of about 3 months, we had 100’s of volunteers come help clean up as well as build sheds. We built a total of 60 sheds for homeowners in Greenfield, who some, had lost everything.


Tennessee Tornado

On May 10, 2024, a tornado hit the communities of Spring hill and Columbia, TN. With the tornado not on the ground for very long and in the air, it damaged thousands of trees. It also caused significant damage to some homes and property. IDES partnered with Spring Hill Christian Church to help with clean up.


Barnsdall, Oklahoma Tornado

A tornado hit this small, 1,000+ populated community of Barnsdall, OK. Around 120 structures where damaged and over 60 of them were completely destroyed. We partnered with Barnsdall Christian Church to help with clean up and sheds.


Nebraska and Iowa Tornados

On April 29, 2024, tornadoes hit communities in Elkorn, Nebraska and Council Bluffs, IA. IDES partnered with Stonebridge CC in Elkhorn,NE and FCC of Council Bluffs (later in the week) to assess needs and help with cleanup. Couple dozen families were assisted.


Eastern INdiana Tornado

On March 14, 2024, an F3 tornado touched down in Delaware and Randolph counties in Eastern Indiana. It ripped apart houses and businesses in Selma and Winchester communities. Volunteers and employees of IDES helped 8 houses in Winchester, IN by cleaning up debris and patching holes on roofs with tarps. Please continue to pray for these people as they strive to recover.


Maui Fires

In early August 2023, a series of wildfires broke out in the U.S. state of Hawaii, predominantly on the island of Maui taking the lives of at least 100 people and destroying thousands of homes and buildings. Our response to the Maui Fires continues as we help dozens of families left homeless by providing shelter and food in this difficult time. Cornerstone Christian Church in Khei, Maui has been an incredible partner with us and is passionate about helping these families. Please join us in praying for the communities of Maui affected by the fires.

Earthquake in Turkey/syria

In the early morning hours of Monday February 6th, 2023, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck the countries of Turkey and Syria.
