Tennessee Tornados

March 17, 2020

Our Disaster Coordinators have been hard at work in Tennessee this week, assessing damaged areas, distributing IDES Care Kits, and establishing connections with churches in the area. IDES will be partnering on two different fronts, one in East Nashville and the other in Cookeville. Base camps for volunteers are being established on both fronts.

Please consider donating to these clean-up efforts at ides.org/donate and select "Tornado" in the designation spot. If you are interested in volunteering with our Tennessee clean-up effort, please contact our volunteer coordinator Joe Brackemyre at jbrackemyre@ides.org

IDES Disaster Response Coordinators are deploying to provide tornado relief in Tennessee. We will be partnering with Alive Nashville, a church plant in East Nashville. The building where Alive Nashville had been meeting was heavily damaged by the tornado and the church is looking for another location to meet. In spite of their own difficulties, they have a passion to show East Nashville they care.

IDES is excited to serve with Alive Nashville providing Help and Hope! Please be in prayer for this church and the community they are reaching out to. If you would like to contribute to these relief efforts, click here and select "Tornado" in the designation box.

The Tennessee tornadoes that hit the Nashville area in the early morning hours of March 3 took several lives, destroyed homes and businesses and displaced dozens of families. It was the second deadliest tornado event in the history of Tennessee.

Our IDES US Disaster Coordinators have been in contact with several pastors and church leaders in the Nashville and Cookeville areas. We are actively praying and planning to respond with assistance. Please join us in those prayers.

To donate via our online portal, select the “Tornado” designation or send checks to IDES for “Tornado” in the memo line. 100% of your gift will be used to help the victims of these storms.
