Texas Winter Storm

IDES has been able to partner with four churches in Texas following the winter storm that hit a few weeks ago. Countless numbers of people have been without power and water. IDES has sent two semi loads of water, plumbing supplies and financial assistance to help those in need.

Before IDES’ truck load of water arrived at Compass Christian Church, members had taken water to a single mother living in an apartment complex. She told them they would be without water all week and there was a hose the residents could use to fill up containers to take back to their apartments. They asked her if she wanted them to drive the donated water by the apartment complex once it arrived and she was thrilled. This story is told time and time again with many residents in Texas.

Some of the youth from Compass Christian Church delivered water door to door, several people came to the drive-thru water pick-up at two of their campuses, the local fire department heard about this donation and drove their engine over to load it up and help with the distribution, and several schools were able to send cases of water home to families who had no clean drinking water.

When a physical need is met, the love of Christ is shown. This donation of water reflects the love of Christ to so many! Thank you for donating to these relief efforts and sharing the love of Christ to those in need!
