Thailand Baptisms

Northern Thailand was hit with heavy rains due to the 2020 monsoon season. Extensive flooding caused rice and tomato fields planted near the rivers to be damaged. This type of flooding in Thailand is truly a life or death situation in every way. Villagers relied on these crops to feed their families and as a source of income to pay for basic necessities and their children’s school tuition, without these crops, people were unable to feed their families or pay for other necessities.

IDES’ partners, in Thailand, were able to provide unmilled rice so these families could plant the crop in order to provide for their family.

Church leaders were able to deliver this rice with the missionaries. They then did a follow-up with the villagers to share the Gospel and love of Christ with them. The seeds provided to these villagers allowed these church leaders to share the life changing news of Jesus Christ. During this follow-up, eleven villagers gave their life to Christ and were baptized.

Sharing the love of Christ is the ultimate goal of what IDES does. We were able to meet their desperate physical needs while providing rice, which opened a door to share the love of Christ to the villagers, leaving an eternal impact on their lives. We praise God for these lives and the work the missionaries are doing in Thailand to share his love with the people there.
