The COVID-19 pandemic has been a monopolizing topic across the globe for over a year now. As the United States begins to start the slow integration back into a sense of normalcy, it becomes evident that this is a luxury that not all the world has.

India, with one of the biggest populations on the planet of 1.355 billion people, is struggling to get back on solid ground. The pandemic has created a slew of disasters, each one coming with its own set of struggles and new needs. As the people of India worry about the risks of COVID-19, there are millions being plagued with an even more critical issue, hunger.

IDES has partnered with 12 mission partners, sending more than $200,000 in COVID-19 aid. One of those partners is Central India Christian Mission (CICM), IDES is working with them to help bring relief to the hungry people in India. This partnership makes it possible to deliver Emergency Relief Kits to thousands of families in India. The relief kits cost $30 and will last approximately two months. Rice, lentil, soy bean nuggets, sugar, cooking oil, gloves, masks, medication, and transportation costs are included in the price of the kits.

The distribution of Emergency Relief Kits provides CICM a unique opportunity to not only feed the physical hunger needs of the people of India, but also their spiritual hunger. These partners are able to share the love of Christ with those they are helping.

IDES' ultimate goal is to share the love of Christ with hurting people, this project is just a single example of how we are able to meet that goal while providing hunger relief. Please join us as we pray for CICM and the hurting people of India for an opportunity to be fed both spiritually and physically.
